Parents of Infants should wait until the child enters the classroom before leaving the school site. Please do not leave children unsupervised in the playground. The climbing frame is out of bounds during drop off and pick up times. For safety reasons, parents and children are not permitted to go beyond the blue gate or to enter the staff car park unless authorised to do so. Latecomers should come into the school via the school office where parents must enter children into the signing-in book so that we can account for each child in case of evacuation or emergency.

All children have a short playtime in the morning.

  • Reception, Years 1 & 2 have lunch between 12.00 pm and 1.10 pm.

Class View

As a voluntary aided Church of England School the principles of the Christian way of life are implicit in all we do. Collective Worship is very much a part of school life and takes place every day. We gather together either in class or year groups in our classrooms or in our key stages in the school hall. The whole school also joins together at least once a week. More information about our Collective Worship can be found on the Collective Worship page.

Parents of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils may give signed consent to the headteacher for their child to walk home alone. They will then be given a privilege card which the child hands to the staff member on the gate each afternoon. Children are not allowed to leave independently without this card. Our Walking To and From School Alone Policy can be found on our School Polices page.

Classes are taught for most of the week by their teacher. However, teachers may swap classes on occasion or other teachers may cover at certain times over the school week. This is to maximise strengths and to provide teachers with Planning, Preparation and Assessment time, known as PPA (this is statutory).

Oscahs run a breakfast and afterschool club on site and more details can be found on their webpage.

We also extend the day and enrich the curriculum by offering afterschool clubs run by staff and outside providers. Details can be found on the clubs page.
