Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND)

Ashford Church of England Primary School is an inclusive school and we ensure that all pupils are included in all aspects of school life. We aim to encourage children, regardless of their Special Educational Needs or Disability, make the best possible progress in school. The school provides a high standard of teaching and learning and we aim to ensure that all the children access a rich and diverse curriculum.

Our Inclusion Leader / SENCO, Mrs A Witt, can be contacted via the school office.

The SEND Information report provides information for parents, carers and those who support children with SEND. The report details the provision and support that parents and carers can expect the school to provide with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SENS).

Our SEND Policy, Accessibility Plan and SEND Ashford CE Information Report can be found on our School Policies page.

Vision for SEND/Inclusion at ACE

‘To ensure that every child who has additional needs is empowered to succeed and flourish.’

This will be achieved through an approach which sets no limits and offers an ambitious curriculum for all.

  • Every teacher at ACE is a teacher of SEND.
  • The needs of pupils are swiftly, accurately, and appropriately identified.
  • There is a clearly understood identification and referral pathway that is consistently used by all staff.
  • With a recognition of the pressure on external agencies – build a strong Inclusion offer and develop capacity within the school.
  • All staff understand how to offer an Adaptive Teaching approach and inclusive culture in every classroom.
  • Pupils that are identified have provision and access to high impact interventions that narrow the gap.
  • Pupil and parent voice is heard as a ‘lived experience’ so that ACE can listen, learn from and support our families.
